With 341 beds and a catchment area of 55,000 inhabitants for acute treatment and one million people for special care (ear, nose and throat; Socio-Paediatric Centre), the hospital treats more than 14,000 in-patients every year. The hospital operates its own dispensary and a clinical-chemical hospital laboratory. Nursing and speech therapists are trained in the hospital’s own nursing school. An out-patient emergency unit has also been in operation since 1996.
